Overview: What is organizational effectiveness? Some arts organizations base their evaluation on the number of constituents served. Others define it as achieving a balanced budget at the end of the year. And yet others see the opening of a new building as proving their organization's effectiveness. But these, and many other indicators, are only part of the overarching story. In this issue of Arts Insights, a person will look at one broad definition of "Organizational effectiveness." This paper explains several ways to analyze the organizational position and will address several performance measures that will help him evaluate the double-bottom-line social impact that the organization has on its community and constituents.
