Overview: Public Affairs Officers (PAO) often receive their sternest test as staff officers in the wake of a crisis. A crisis will bring to light planning processes, the PAO's grasp of regulations and procedures, and the commander's interest level in public affairs operations. The soldiers of the great Army and the citizens of America deserve accurate and timely information during and following crises. Only the thorough planning and execution by the PAO can achieve this lofty objective.This paper provides the PAO with a basis from which to develop a plan for actions during a crisis.
