Overview: The Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office is responsible for registering and titling all personal and commercial vehicles in the county. Tarrant County used a manual registration and titling system. Each of the eight Tax Office locations manually recorded dealer transactions into a ledger, which was faxed to a central location for processing. A project team from CIBER's Dallas office reviewed the county's existing procedures, methods, and software systems. The team identified inefficiencies of the old manual system, and determined user requirements and system specifications for a new automated system.
