Overview: Continental's tire manufacturing and distribution system was based on several separate homegrown applications with significant manual involvement. It did not integrate with the company's existing SAP R2 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The company wanted to implement a comprehensive supply chain management system based on i2, but needed help. IBM Business Consulting Services assisted in the i2 implementation with integration of data and data mapping, support of business process reengineering and overall project management.
