Overview: In product design CAD data quality plays a major role in achieving the target date in the limited time for product life cycle development. Ensuring the quality of CAD data is necessary for data to be used within the product development process chain. A clean set of CAD data saves time and money in Digital Mock-Up (DMU), CNC machining and data exchange etc. This also enables data to be saved and viewed at the same standard and should allow more efficient concurrent working. This paper explains how to ensure that CAD data is of the highest quality.
