Overview: The introduction of a linear Accounting and Finance degree programme at the University of Glamorgan was seen as an opportunity to integrate the teaching of management accounting with that of IT by use of a case study. Using case studies is generally agreed to enhance student learning. In the teaching of accounting it has, until now, largely been concentrated on the development of the higher level learning objectives of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The aim of the case study presented in this paper is to concentrate on the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills by enabling students to see the practical application of their knowledge and skills to a "Real-life" scenario.
