Overview: With multiple projects in progress and daily support tasks in the mix, most IT managers at small to midsized enterprises barely have time for lunch, much less the opportunity to sit down and set long-term and short-term goals at each project launch. The answer is to pass along responsibility to individual project leaders who can shepherd the work through multiple stages. Although it might take time and effort, especially if recruiting is involved, finding the right leaders can boost a company's effectiveness and keep projects from piling up on an IT manager's desk.
