Overview: The purpose of the study presented in this paper was twofold. The first purpose was to explore the proposed relationship between effective leadership and the two character dimensions - leadership credibility and self-efficacy - within an organization comprised primarily of knowledge workers. Little has been done to measure the relationship between leadership character dimensions and leadership effectiveness, particularly on the self-efficacy dimension. The second purpose of this study was to propose a development model that applies the study's findings to leadership development. To apply the findings of this study to leadership behaviors and actions, leader-managers need an explicit development and performance feedback path for improvement.
