Overview: Communication skills are just one of the core leadership competencies healthcare financial managers need to succeed in today's marketplace. In practical terms, core competencies can be defined as attributes that make one person more effective than someone else who holds the same job. In other words, core competencies are linked far more closely to the scope and demands of a particular job than they are to a specific job title or functional specialty. It is significantly easier to define core competencies needed today than to accurately forecast probably doesn't qualify as an epiphany, but it bears acknowledgement.
