Overview: Employers affected by Hurricane Katrina will receive extensions on most deadlines for filings and some retirement plan funding requirements with the Internal Revenue Service, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and U.S. Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration due on or after August 29 until October 31, 2005. A Federal Tax Deposit (FTD) Penalty Waiver Period for employment and excise tax deposits will extend from August 29 to September 23, 2005.
