Overview: In the ever-changing work environment, one of the most pervasive challenges facing employers in coming years will be protecting the work capacity of the aging workforce. Individuals in the baby boomer generation, those born between 1946 and 1964, will work longer and remain healthier, creating a new life stage - the productive aging stage. In order to address issues associated with aging workers, employers, healthcare providers and health and disability insurers will need to understand and appreciate the unique challenges this new group of workers presents.
