Overview: The introduction of statistical forecasting rigor into corporate processes carries many challenges and complexities from business, systemic, architectural, cultural and political perspectives. Any change, no matter how beneficial in the long run, initiates a degree of uncertainty and potential resistance. Recommendations on the judicious use of statistical software need to be tempered with a thorough assessment of organizational "Readiness" that uncovers the specific problems, gauges the applicability and benefits of enhanced forecasting, and establishes a viable road map for remediation. The following paper provides an example of a Strategic Value Assessment (SVA) that aligns the processes of a fictitious product Manufacturing Company (ManuCo) to a road map for forecast improvement.
