Overview: Mediation is a unique form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Mediation is a process in which a neutral third party assists two or more disputants in finding a mutually acceptable solution to their conflict. The mediator facilitates discussions, enhances communications, and uses a variety of other skills and techniques to help the parties reach a settlement, but has no power to make a decision. The process is voluntary and confidential.
