Overview: Regional trade alliances, such as the NAFTA, have motivated an increasing number of US multinationals to set up joint ventures in Mexico. While such ventures require both sides to understand and use different management practices, practitioners are paying increasing attention to the human resources aspect of such ventures. There is a striking absence of information on human resources management issues relating to US-Mexico joint ventures. This paper offers a preliminary analysis on human resource management issues of such organizations.
