Overview: Well-planned Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure services are critical for companies pursuing strategic agility. The traditional bricks-and-mortar organisation and the virtual organisation cannot be separated as easily as they have in the past. Companies are organising themselves both physically and virtually, from their Customers to their Supply Chains. In the process some research findings suggest that they cannot move as quickly as they would like. This paper explores the increasing importance of the role of IT infrastructure services in facilitating such moves. The author proposes a conceptual framework based on a literature review to help companies / organisations when planning / sourcing their IT infrastructure services.
