Overview: The US Military's involvement in urban operations has escalated significantly over the past several years. Though modeling and simulation (M&S) has played a large role in the development and refinement of Army tactics, techniques and procedures, current model research for Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) is fragmented and inadequately resourced. Core physical models are judged to be insufficient as a foundation for simulation of urban operations. To combat the deficiencies, the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO) has formed a Focus Area Collaborative (FAC) Team.
