Overview: The ISO 9000:2000 standards are a set of international quality management standards and guidelines. Since their initial publication in 1987, they have earned a global reputation as the basis for establishing quality management systems. Fundamentally, the impetus for this Quality Management System (QMS) has been the philosophy of W. Edwards Deming. It shows the Deming philosophy as it relates to the overall organizational goals and their respective objectives. It is imperative to note that the philosophy is concentrated in four areas; Management objectives; Production objectives; Training objectives; And objectives for the entire workforce.
