Overview: Although flexibility is recognized as a key dimension of manufacturing strategy, and although much progress has been made in defining, deconstructing, and developing theory concerning manufacturing flexibility, implementation of flexibility in manufacturing plants remains difficult and prone to failure. In this paper, one present a case study of a flexibility failure.
