Overview: The field of educational technology seeks to create instructional materials and learning environments based on its own empirical research and the theoretical research of cognitive psychology, educational psychology, other behavioral sciences, and management science. Through those domains of knowledge and their applications to educational systems are possibilities for leadership diversity, particularly as it relates to educational outcomes for underrepresented and minority groups of learners. Educational technology researchers and practitioners are skilled to analyze the needs of any type of learner and create appropriate instructional interventions to positively affect learning outcomes.
