Overview: Leaders in the Canadian Forces (CF) can use principles of organizational justice in peacetime and other out of theatre contexts to establish trust and commitment to decisions among subordinates and to reduce the likelihood of negative responses to perceived unfairness (i.e., reduced citizenship behaviour, retaliation, withdrawal behaviour). Moreover, the effects of fair treatment on trust and decision commitment may transfer to attitudes and behaviours while in theatre and, hence, promote operational effectiveness.
