Overview: The purpose of this capstone proposal is to demonstrate the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace. The capstone will discuss hiring emotionally intelligent people, evaluating leaders in companies with respect to how their level of emotional intelligence affects the rest of the organization, and training and continuing development of emotional intelligence skills in the workplace. It will determine if emotional intelligence is important enough for a company to increase the evaluation of emotional intelligence in prospective employees. The information collected in this study will be obtained from employees and students at the Sturm College of Law and University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law.
