Overview: Joined-up government has been a central feature of UK Labour government policy since 1997. Joined-up government embraces a number of responses designed to tackle the fragmented landscape of public service provision in key areas including education, urban regeneration, health and social services. This paper focuses on Scotland and examines the developing relationship between health and social care through the implementation of the Joint Future Initiative.
