Overview: The purpose of this presentation is to propose a blueprint for leadership for the transformation of schools in the twenty-first century. For many of those present, this may not be what one is seeking. After all, the immediate challenge is to sustain the current leadership - to be sure of success and to achieve a sense of stability - rather than strike out on a mission to change the world! Be assured that these immediate needs are accommodated in the view of leadership presented here. Success in further transformation is assured if the scale of transformation is understood, if strategies for success are shared, if there is a blueprint to guide the effort in different settings, and if the knowledge and skill to perform the task are acquired.
