Overview: The purpose of this whitepaper is to provide information on how FUSION PACS can support the overall Healthcare Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance efforts. This paper includes information specific to the Privacy and Security. Each organization must determine the combination of approaches that best fits its organizational needs. The first purpose of HIPAA was to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery by standardizing electronic data interchange, which in this case does not apply to the Fusion PACS System.
