Overview: Executive compensation may have generated more media attention, governmental scrutiny and shareholder activism over the last two years than at any time during the past. The insurance industry is not immune from such criticism. Shareholders and policyholders are outraged or perplexed as many executives continue to prosper amid declining share prices, denied claims or rising premium rates.
