Overview: Information sharing and systems are an integral part of the National Strategy for Homeland Security. The Strategy aligns and focuses homeland security functions into six critical mission areas including: intelligence and warning; border and transportation security; domestic counterterrorism; protecting critical infrastructure and key assets; defending against catastrophic threats; and emergency preparedness and response. Achieving the Strategy's goals in each of these areas will depend in large measure on enabling all those responsible for preventing or responding to terrorism to exchange knowledge quickly, easily, and transparently. This paper details how IBM can partner with government to build the information infrastructure the nation needs.
