Overview: In May 2001, the hedge fund's IT department decided to upgrade to Windows 2000 servers running Exchange 2000 for their e-mail system. As part of the upgrade, they wanted a way to eliminate the 2-5 hours per month of downtime they were experiencing with their existing Windows NT servers. The hedge fund needed a simple, affordable solution that would deliver continuous service and free IT staff from the burden of unplanned downtime. They found that Marathon's unique technology helped them meet their exacting requirements for continuous uptime, simple administration and maintenance, and complete data protection.
