Overview: This paper concentrates on few statistical methods that are widely used in the analysis of clinical trials and clinical studies and are also used in theory of measurement science. Biostatistics is essentially statistics. It concerns the development of statistical methods and plays a key role in design and analysis of studies in public health and biomedical research. In analyzing biological experiments we face several independent sources of variability. Usually the study (experiment) is designed so that the effectiveness of a certain intervention, say treatment, is to be established (i.e., Phase II Clinical Trials).
