Overview: This article considers how the use of business process frameworks simplifies the task of capturing current process information in an organization. It discusses how using frameworks enormously simplifies the task of capturing current process information in an organization, and, using SCOR, it shows how a "capture" process uses frameworks in particular for a "sourcing" process. The capture follows a type of "crawl," or spiral where, using any starting point in a process network, the process framework guides the process manager in rapidly capturing all the process information in the network without having to understand anything about the business process itself.
