Overview: The client, a major payer organization in Massachusetts has four major applications: a homegrown application that supports HMO and POS business, Diamond 725 that supports Medicare risk business, RIMS that supports TPA business and MACESS that supports call center and workflow. The above mentioned applications were facing problems in areas like maintainability, scalability, vendor support, older technology, performance and interoperability. Wipro did an assessment of four of the client's Managed Care applications viz. Claims, Membership, Provider and Premium Billing using the services of Gartner and its own technology centers of excellence. The global delivery model helped faster delivery at lower cost.
