Overview: Based in Winden, Germany, Metalife provides tools and services to assist pharmaceutical companies and scientists explore genetic databases as they search for ways to cure and prevent disease. Metalife needed to provide increased capacity for concurrent, full-text searches, and provide easier data access, data snapshots for versioning, and easy-to-use reporting. Metalife upgraded to the beta edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (64-bit) database running on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition, and operating system. This led to easier data navigation.
