Overview: Based in Cumberland, Maryland, the Western Maryland Health System (WMHS) provides healthcare - including medical, surgical, pediatric, and obstetric services - to western Maryland. WMHS uses the MEDITECH Healthcare Information System to manage its operations and medical records from text-based terminals. The organization needed to simplify physician access to patient data. WMHS worked with Park City Solutions to develop a physician Web portal based on the Park City emPOWERnet application framework, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. The E-signatures saved 100 work hours per week.
