Overview: Based in Newport Beach, CA, Pacific Life provides life and health insurance products, individual annuities, mutual funds, group employee benefits, and a variety of investment products and services. Pacific Life's increasing use of e-mail made the company explore ways to increase the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of its messaging solution. The Life Insurance division migrated from Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange Server 2003 and is piloting mobile solutions based on Microsoft Windows Mobile software for the Pocket PC. As a result users' e-mail time cut up to75 percent.
