Overview: Mid-State Bank & Trust, based in Arroyo Grande, California, is an independent community bank with U.S. $2.3 billion in assets and 41 retail offices serving California's Central Coast. Mid-State was running its network on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, which was approaching the end of its support. The bank required a major network upgrade without disruption to its business processes. INS implemented Active Directory and completed a migration of 53 servers to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 850 users to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 without disruption of service. There was an improved security and administrative control.
