Overview: In order to increase employee satisfaction and motivate employee productivity, the human resources department has to set achievable and measurable goals. These goals should include employee satisfaction, performance, and achievement as its goals. Ideally, HR should be viewed as a profit center, whose product is employee performance and achievement, using employee satisfaction and retention rate as key metrics for measurement of company "health". How Self-Service fits into the objectives defined above is the subject of this article. The article examines this subject from two aspects: first, from the point of view of a computer literate employee; and second, from the human resource administrator's position.
