Overview: HR functions are looking to reduce time spent on recordkeeping and increase time dedicated to strategic partnering with the business. An organization's sourcing strategy - essentially, the "make versus buy" equivalent for the HR function - provides the opportunity to meet this goal. When done correctly, a sound outsourcing strategy maximizes the return on internal resources by enabling the organization to concentrate on its areas of core competence and greatest business relevance. It allows the organization to fully leverage the expertise, investments, innovations, and specialized capabilities of external suppliers that, in most cases, would be prohibitively expensive to duplicate internally.
