Overview: This article analyzes whether the minority-owned businesses in the United States have access to venture capital (VC) funds. It further describes the kinds of minority business enterprises (MBEs) that get VC support, and it sheds light on where are venture capital funds that flow into minority-owned firms coming from. It examines whether venture capital firms investing in businesses owned by African-Americans, Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans make or lose money and how does that compare to the VC industry overall.
