Overview: In traditional marine seismic surveys, the seismic source and receivers are towed behind a vessel near the sea surface. The images of the subsurface provided by this technique represent a prerequisite to hydrocarbon exploration. In ocean bottom seismics, the receivers (or source) are located at the seafloor.
