Overview: The initial version of the Iowa Department of Public Health's 2000-2005 Strategic Plan was the result of several stages of review, analysis, and planning that involved over 100 members of the staff and included input from the department's contractors, boards, and commissions. The plan's assessment and goal sections are reviewed and updated annually. The following narrative briefly summarizes the assessment process and products that contributed to the development of the initial strategic plan in 1999 and to this updated plan.
