A software agent is a software entity that functions continuously and autonomously in a particular environment, often inhabited by other agents and processes. Software agents provide solutions to some tough problems existing in collaborative and interactive virtual environments. In this paper, AGILE, agent based architecture for collaborative and interactive virtual environment is proposed. The general architecture is explained, with focus on emotional and behavioral agents since they add new features to virtual environments.
