Overview: Airborne and impact sound transmission measurements were performed on a floor assembly which comprised NRC reference carpet, NRC reference underpad, QuietWood QW-631 Serenity, 457 mm parallel wood trusses and QuietRock QR-530 Serenity. For purposes of this paper, this specimen is identified as Specimen B3414-9. The Sound Transmission Class (STC) and Weighted Sound Reduction Index are single-figure rating schemes intended to rate the acoustical performance of a partition element under typical conditions involving office or dwelling separation.
