Overview: The Chelan County PUD owns and operates the nation's second largest non-federal, publicly owned hydro generating system. In addition to the generation and sale of electricity, the District also provides water and wastewater service to residents of Chelan County. Recently the Chelan County PUD moved into a multi-tenant, three-story building - the most high-tech, newly constructed building in the area. The new building's basement will be used as a central location for fiber optic technology and the distribution of bandwidth to private companies for re-sell. It will also house the Dispatch Department, which manages the power distribution for Chelan County.
