Overview: Most people don't view their homes as posing any particular impediment to living there as they age. For those with concerns, stairs are the greatest worry. Those surveyed were asked if there is something about their homes they think could make it difficult or uncomfortable for them as they age and physical needs change. Close to half (47 percent) have no concerns. However, 22 percent cited stairs as a concern. Those who are not likely to stay in their homes mentioned stairs as a concern more than those who are likely to remain (33 percent vs. 14 percent).
