Overview: The Thermo Cogeneration Partnership placed orders for five GE LM-6000 gas turbine generator sets each with a fired heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) for their Fort Lupton, CO site. The duct burners failed to comply with the permitted emission rates of carbon monoxide. Several modifications were attempted to one of the units, without success. As the deadline for compliance with the Colorado State air quality permit drew near, Coen was approached to come up with a quick retrofit solution to meet the emission limits. They offered their latest generation High Capacity, Low Emission duct burner elements.
