Overview: One of the objectives of the paper was to evaluate the operating costs for the vehicle. Unfortunately the level of manufacturer intervention required was such that no useful estimate of the cost of these repairs and the associated "downtime" could be made. Another objective was to monitor long-term hydrogen consumption against distance traveled in order to quantify the environmental benefits of operating the FCV in an urban environment. Calculation of environmental benefits has been based on data gathered during performance testing at Advantica, as the fuel cell did not operate for long enough periods to allow calculation of the amount of hydrogen taken from the refueling facility.
