Overview: This paper describes the test methods adopted and results obtained to assess the power performance and the audible noise emission from the turbine. The use of wind power as a contributor to the Public Electricity Supply Network has, in recent years, been widely publicized and a number of successful wind farms have been developed and commissioned. However, wind energy has, on a smaller scale, a valuable role to play in the supply of usable power to small communities or commercial users such as farms and remote or outlying villages or islands.
