Overview: This paper is designed to continue the work that was instigated with the installation of a wood combustion system at a school. The purpose of the demonstration was to assist Talbott's heating to develop and demonstrate new technology in respect of automated wood handling equipment. The key issue that emerged from this study was the difficulty experienced in securing a consistent supply of woodchip that satisfied the manufacturer's specification. The project has succeeded in achieving its aim of continuing the demonstration and examining the feasibility of using standardized fuel pellets.
