Overview: The Cascade Drainback solar water heating system has gone through an extensive design, technical and performance review by the Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (SRCC). The solar energy system described by this paper, when properly installed and maintained, meets the minimum standards established by the SRCC. This paper covers systems utilizing either one or two SunEarth solar collectors. The collectors may heat a single solar storage tank or a solar storage tank and an auxiliary electric or gas water heater.
