Overview: This document requires Federal agencies to reduce their vehicle petroleum consumption by 20 percent, relative to their FY 1999 baseline, through the use of alternative fuel in alternative fuel vehicles and improvements in fleet fuel efficiency. One of the requirements of this document is for each agency to develop a comprehensive strategy that illustrates how it will achieve the petroleum reduction goals. This report summarizes the strategy for the U.S. Department of Energy.
