Overview: One of the most important measures that need to be put into practice is promotion aimed at local government. The objective is for solar thermal systems to be installed in buildings owned or managed by local authorities to showcase and demonstrate solar energy to possible users in the area. Another objective concerning local government, one perhaps larger in scope, is for local councils, within the powers assigned to them, to promote citizen use of solar power through municipal plans and ordinances and town planning and building regulations that establish the necessary parameters for installing solar systems in new buildings.
